Benidorm is unique but
around it can be seen a variety of different types of countryside which
are completely different to the coast, in spite of being only a few
kilometres away. Its nearness to the mountains and to the huertas,
invites the visitor staying in Benidorm to make numerous excursions to
discover surprising places of natural beauty with different geographical
features where it is possible to enjoy such pleasant activities as
hiking or merely taking a gentle stroll and observing the surroundings.
Among the areas
of the interior are: the springs and waterfalls of El Algar, the
medieval village of Castell de Guadalest, Confrides, Penáguila, Tárbena
and the mountain ranges of Aitana and Bernia. However,
it is also possible to make excursions along the coast and visit other
attractive towns like Altea, Calpe, Villajoyosa, Denia, Santa Pola,
Torrevieja and Alicante.
